This little book started out as a way of putting down on paper some thoughts, quotes, philosophies, and thought-provoking concepts I have used in Intentional Achievements for a long time. It was just a way of capturing these thoughts and having them in one place from which I could post them through Twitter or Facebook every once in a while to get people thinking.

The way to use this book to change your life is found in the title. There are 52 quotes—1 for each week of the year. Read one at the beginning of each week. Take some time to reflect on it and jot down some notes about your thoughts and discoveries. Then, based on those reflections and incites, write down a few actions steps you will take that week to use that information to make slight, and sometimes dramatic change in your behaviors. Life doesn't change until you take some action. And, permanent, long-lasting, positive performance change doesn't take place just because you read or listened to something—you have to do something with it. Then, at the end of the week, review and reflect on that week. Did you execute your action
steps? What changed for you based on your reflections and actions? Where you satisfied with your progress? What will you have to do the next week to make even more positive change in your life? Write those thoughts on the appropriate page. Now you are ready to start the next week with even more inspiration and commitment.

God can’t steer a parked car. My challenge to you is don’t use this book in the same way you have used all the others you have read. This is a workbook—for your Intentional Life. Use it that way. Write in it. Take notes in it. Make plans in it. Make commitments in it and then follow them to get into action. Don’t just sit in your virtual car [on the road of life] making vroom-vroom sounds behind the wheel. You can pretend you are going somewhere, but the car ain’t movin. Decide where you want to go, pull the car out of park, step on the gas and start moving.
